Privacy Policy
A clear explanation of what Grow stores, how it protects your private journal, and the choices you control.
Effective September 8, 2026
Grow is a private cultivation journal and educational companion available at grow.thetechmutt.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information Grow handles, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information Grow handles
Account information
When you create an account, Grow stores the name and email address you provide, your WordPress account credentials in protected form, information about your Grow membership, and a record of your required 18-or-older confirmation, including when it was made and the age-policy version presented. Grow does not collect your birth date or identity documents for this confirmation.
Private journal information
Your grow spaces, plant names, journal text, checklists, equipment, and structured cultivation records are stored in private, account-scoped server storage. Grow processes this information to save, load, organize, and display your journal after you sign in. Journal records are protected by authenticated requests and account-ownership checks and are not intended to be publicly accessible.
Photos you choose to upload
Photos you attach to journal entries are uploaded to private account storage. Grow stores the photo, basic file information, and the journal context needed to show it in your account. Photos are served through an authenticated ownership check and are not intended to be publicly accessible.
Membership and payment information
Paid memberships are processed through Paid Memberships Pro and Stripe. Grow receives membership, subscription, payment status, and transaction information needed to provide and manage access. Grow does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Product analytics
Grow uses first-party product analytics to understand whether visitors and members complete important actions such as viewing the landing page, selecting a signup link or plan, completing checkout, creating a grow space, adding a journal entry, or opening learning content. Before sign-in, Grow assigns a random identifier for the current browser session and stores it in sessionStorage; Grow does not use a persistent analytics cookie. Landing-page events may include the page path, broad device class, referring site hostname, campaign source, medium and name, signup-link placement, and selected plan. Signed-in product events use an internal account identifier and limited allowlisted details. Analytics do not include journal text, photos, plant or grow-space names, names, email addresses, IP addresses, passwords, card data, or precise location. Grow disables browser analytics when Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is enabled.
Messages and technical information
If you contact the developer through Grow, Grow receives your message, account name, and account email so the message can be reviewed and answered. Grow and its hosting providers may also process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser information, request time, and security logs to operate and protect the service.
How information is used
- Provide, secure, maintain, and improve Grow.
- Authenticate accounts and enforce membership limits.
- Process memberships, payments, cancellations, and account deletion.
- Store and privately display journal records and photos selected by members.
- Send essential account, security, billing, and support messages.
- Understand product usage without collecting grow-journal content.
- Prevent abuse, investigate problems, and comply with legal obligations.
Service providers and disclosure
Grow may share information with service providers that help operate the service, including website hosting, email delivery, WordPress membership software, and Stripe for payment processing. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices. Grow may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer.
Some learning pages contain affiliate links. If you follow an affiliate link, the destination site may collect information under its own privacy policy, and Grow may earn a commission from a qualifying purchase at no additional cost to you.
Retention and deletion
Account and journal information is retained while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Using Grow’s account-deletion control deletes the WordPress account, associated journal records, and Grow photos after active recurring billing is cancelled. Anonymous browser-session analytics and deidentified product event records may be retained for aggregate product measurement and are not necessarily linked to an account-deletion request. Payment and transaction records may be retained when required for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal purposes.
Your choices
- Review membership details and cancel recurring renewal from the Account area.
- Delete individual uploaded photos or delete your account from the Account area.
- Delete individual journal entries, photos, grow spaces, or your entire account through Grow.
- Enable Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in a supported browser to disable browser analytics.
- Contact the developer from the Account area to ask a privacy question or request help.
Security
Grow uses HTTPS, authenticated account sessions, request-forgery protections, private photo storage rules, ownership checks, and other safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Age eligibility
Grow accounts and memberships are intended only for people who are at least 18 years old and may lawfully access cultivation information in their location. Signup requires an 18-or-older confirmation. Grow does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 and may suspend or delete an account if it learns that the account holder does not meet the age requirement.
Changes to this policy
Grow may update this Privacy Policy as the product or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
